This week the White House announced that President Biden will meet with Russian President Putin in Geneva, on June 16th.

Question: What do you think Biden should communicate to Putin regarding cyber/technology policy?

    All, not everything has to be a “shirts” and “skins” game. It’s possible to have an intelligent conversation about complex policy issues without name calling or hyperbole.

    If that’s not your cup of tea you may need another newsletter.

    This is a great question! I think this is a great opportunity for the U.S. to dig into the Sino-Soviet relationship and sow some discord. Remind Russia that they ultimately can't trust China and that the more they integrate with them (R&D collab, ICT contracts, etc.), the more beholden they are to the greater power. Russia may make some advances in tech, but they won't be autonomous. Authoritarianism may bring them together for awhile but there is enough evidence and good judgement to say that China is not here to play nice with anyone.

    Obviously he should make demands for Putin to stop the hacking and arrest and return the money to those who were held hostage to their demands, but when Biden’s handlers are so inept to give up a key negotiating item (Russia pipe line) prior to the meeting my hope is we manage to get out of the meeting without loosing our ass. Biden is nothing more than a ventriloquial figure.

    He might ask : How many New Pipelines do you want ? In exchange for Not being hacked again, for at least 4 years.

    Biden should ask him if he has more hackers than we do and is he aware of how much the Chinese have infiltrated his systems. Referring to prior comments, I think both are Authoritarians and socialism is only a road to power.
